I started riding within the Pony Club in 1987 at the age of seven whilst living in East Lothian, Scotland. I started with my first pony Snowy, a grey 12.2hh Welsh Mountain that taught me the ways and could also be very cheeky at times. In 1990 I then moved up to my 14.2hh Fell X Dales Bay Pony called Sammy who took me through the Prince Philip Cup Games, Show Jumping and One Day Eventing. From the age of 13 I always sought work in various yards to fund competing and to broaden my knowledge and experience. I have worked with polo ponies, hunters, dressage horses and with eventers, often volunteering alongside being paid. In later years after joining the Armed Forces I decided to focus my attention on my young Irish Sports Horse and brought him on from basics through to trying our hand at British Eventing.
After a full career within the Armed Forces I have decided to work with horses on a regular basis having carried on from Cheryl and her well established business. I am also CRB checked & First Aid trained.
Competition wise, for many years I have regularly competed in jumping, dressage, low level eventing and showing also being a regular member of Pony Club & Riding Clubs across the UK.
I thoroughly enjoy supporting in training and preparation of horses assisting the needs of the horse and rider through the grades whether it be for pleasure riding or serious competition.
